The Social Justice Ministry invites you to take part in activities highlighting the work of civil rights crusader and attorney Bryan Stevenson, who has represented many people on Death Row. (Downey’s civil rights pilgrimage next month will include a visit to a memorial and a museum founded by Stevenson.) Please join us for one or all of these events:

• Free showing of HBO documentary, “True Justice: Bryan Stevenson’s Fight For Equality,” on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Downey sanctuary.

• “American Injustice: Mercy, Humanity and Making a Difference,” a moderated discussion led by Stevenson. The event will focus on how we can overcome poverty by attacking the systemic and social injustices that fuel it. Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Clowes Memorial Hall.
